I always admired Valley of Fire State Park, fall in love with it the first time I visited. As a Las Vegas wedding photographer, it's one of my favorite locations to photograph couples from all around the world.
This beautiful couple wanted to opt out from a traditional wedding and have a little adventure, so they eloped from Hungary to Las Vegas, got married in downtown wedding chapel, than headed for a photo session to Valley of Fire. Between Spectacular, majestic red mountains, desert landscape and blue sky we created some amazing photos.
It took mother nature millions of years to create this gorgeous area, which consist of 40,000 acres of vivid bright red Aztec sandstone rock formations, which nestled in gray and tan limestone mountains, creating dramatic patterns of color and texture. Valley of Fire State Park received its name from a traveler who said that the entire valley looked like it was on fire when traveling through the valley at sunset.
Early man moved into the area as far back as 11,000 years ago, but it started to get popular, when a road was built through the area in 1912 as part of the Arrowhead Trail, connecting Salt Lake City with Los Angeles. In 1934, Valley of Fire was formally opened as Nevada’s first state park.
We needed to get a permit and have a site visit with Ranger Steeve, before we could actually photograph with the couple in the park.
We were very fortunate to spend an afternoon between in this very special place, between these majestic rock formations. Even the Las Vegas summer heat, we had a great time.
This is one of my favorite images from the photography session.
